The skilled migrant visa is one you might consider applying for after your studies. These visas are granted to people who have good English language skills, combined with skills and qualifications in an occupation needed in Australia.

employee sponsored visas

This is a visa for professionals and skilled workers sponsored by employers in Australia. The occupations to which these visas apply are those which cannot be filled by permanent Australian residents due to skills shortages

professionals and other skilled migrants

There are other visas available for people who have skills that are in need in Australia. Application must pass a points test for the visa as well as be over 18 and less than 45 years of age, with good English Language ability, and recent skilled work experience, or recently completed eligible Australian qualification.

There is currently a shortage of doctors and nurses in Australia, particularly in regional areas. General practitioners or specialists can apply for a visa to work in Australia if they have obtained their primary medical qualification in a country other than Australia or gained their medical qualifications in Australia and are not an Australian permanent resident.
